Opportunity: : Construction of a 2,600 square foot wine tasting facility and event hall for Valhalla Vineyards. Take advantage of the panoramic mountain views. The building must have an old world character but also must function as a modern facility. Connecting to the environment that surrounds it was also a key concern of the Structures’ client.
Application: Utilizing the natural materials of wood and stone as its primary finishing materials the wine tasting facility seamlessly connects the surrounding environment with breathtaking views of Blue Ridge Mountains. A cathedral ceiling supported by mortise and tenon trusses and a stone floor enriches the wine tasting experience. Valhalla Vineyards Tasting Facility and Event Hall has become a modern day landmark in the Roanoke Valley hosting weddings, receptions and gatherings as well as marketing the Valhalla assortment of fine wines. The facility was completed on time and 4% under budget.
